This is wrong on all levels

The Council did not follow their legal process correctly when they asked Jackie to sign the new tenancy. Jackie was in a very distressed and vulnerable state, being recently widowed and under the care of her GP and Hospital Consultant.
Both Barry and Ann have had to endure months of uncertainty and this has affected them both. I wish them all the best.

Barry and Anne have done so much over so many years for our community. We would miss them both so much if they are forced to leave their family home which they should have been able to stay and continue their great work for this estate

Jackie BORMAN (Sutton, 2024-04-27)

Barry is instrumental in our community and always puts others first. This cannot be allowed to happen!!

Alan Robb (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

I have know the family all my life as a close Community our parents was always there for for all the children and I always felt safe Barry still does a lot to keep the community spirit going and this would have died out a long time ago please do not take this away and let them stay in their home and keep the community going

Lisa Taylor (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

I've never known anyone put so much effort into improving our local area as they have over the past years. They are invaluable to our local community and are loved by all here.

Luke Cresswell (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

I believe Barry and Ann have a right to remain.

Tony Hall (London, 2024-04-27)

I believe that Barry and Ann have been treated in a shoddy way by the Council, without any regard to the full facts of this case, nor with any regard to the physical and mental health of these two good, and dearly loved, people.

I have known Barry Killick and Ann Skilton all of their lives. Their family home has always been a place of love and security for all of their family. During Covid, when so many people were feeling isolated and alone, Barry organised activities that his neighbours could take part in whilst observing the necessary distancing. He also donates a great part of his time to organising community activities backed by his sister Ann. If they are evicted from their home, not only will it be a great loss to the neighbourhood, it will also take away their 'raison d'etre'.
Please retract the eviction notice and let them continue to live within the community who hold them in such high regard.

Barry and Ann have lived next door to us since the family moved in in 1969 they are a wonderful couple and should be allowed to stay where they are

Norah Mitchell (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

They should be allowed to stay they have lived here for years

Keith Mitchell (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

I’m signing because to throw my cousins out of their ancestral home is not only small-minded and petty but would be a disaster for the community.

Keith Taylor (Shepton Mallet, 2024-04-27)

I believe the potential eviction to be unjust and wholly unreasonable for long standing residents to be treated in such a manner, especially after such an emotional loss. To lose their Mother and then face eviction all because of a technicality which was possibly an error. No mother would have signed an agreement knowing that in the event of her death, her children would face eviction.

Guy Jeffries (Epsom, 2024-04-27)

Barry help our community to get united. Every year Barry arrange different events for the community. He helps our local business to get promoted with different activities.

Sabir Ahmed (Sutton , 2024-04-27)

Me signing and showing support is right!!! archaic reasons for eviction are wrong.

Neil Wilkins (Chessington, 2024-04-27)

I am signing these petition as I have grown up with this family all my life as we have lived in the same area all our life

Mark Lish (Coulsdon , 2024-04-27)

I believe the Counci are responsible for causing confusion in the first place over the purchase of the house despite buying it back. It seems the tenancy should have been passed to their daughter residing at the property at the time of the confused tendency signing an agreement which at the time she likely lacked capacity. The entire area will be the poorer if Barry has to move he is an incredible articulate and talented man and should be allowed to stay in the house.

Ann Sharon Clare Edmonds (Banstead, 2024-04-27)

They have lived in there house for years, and its disgraceful that they won't them out ,they pay there rent every month, leave them alone

Tony Garner (London , 2024-04-27)

I’m concerned that these members of our community have been treated unfairly.

Alison Knaggs (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

Barry and Ann are an asset to the community I’ve known them years and it is wrong that they should e forced out from their childhood home.

My family lived up The Mount since 1963 and know the family. The Community of that area is something I will remember, and people like them are precious and do so much for the whole community. Which keep the spirit alive. Barry fights to keep everyone together and was an integral part of the fight for community public house Jack and Jill. People that moved away still come back to visit the lovely people of the area.

Vanessa Brown (Sutton, 2024-04-27)

2 lovely people who I know & have known all my life.🫡🙏👍🌹

Mark Ellis (string:London, 2024-04-27)

Barry has been pivotal in many community projects over recent years and deserves to stay in his home as correct procedures have not been followed.

Rowena Wicks (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

#103

I can't believe these two people are being treated like this. The family have never missed a payment over a number of years and are already paying the highest amount of rent that the council can charge. It's been their family home for 55 years and they are a pillar of the community. Common sense should prevail.

Matt Batten (Worcester Park , 2024-04-27)

#107

I wish Barry and Anne to stay in the family home. Where they both cared for their late mother. Let them enjoy their family home.

Susan Bonard (Sutrey, 2024-04-27)

#109

I'm signing because I have know Barry and his family for a number of years. I don't know of anybody who has committed to his community in the way he has. He is a key part of The Mount and goes out of his way to help people in need. This a total injustice and this decision needs to be reversed.

Michelle Murphy (Liverpool, 2024-04-27)

#110

Unfair 😡😡😡

Darren Dormer (London, 2024-04-27)

#111

I’m signing this petition because Barry and Anne are integral members of our community and the work they do for its residents is selfless. They do not deserve to be evicted from their family home just because their parents have died.

Kathy English (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

#115

I’m signing because Barry has a huge impact on this community and whatever the rules say, eviction after 60 years is grossly unfair and not at all charitable.

Gary Boniface (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

#118

Barry is a pillar of The Mount community. He has always been the person to go to for anything and if he doesn’t know the answer he will find it. The community relies on Barry and Anne for support for the Mount and Clockhouse community. Should they leave it will be devastating for all of us.. Through the pandemic the support the community received was second to none. They deserve to stay in their home as no one can replace them in the community. Please reconsider. Thank you.

Cora OConnor Collins (Coulsdon, 2024-04-27)

#122

They deserve to remain in the family home and there is no sense in moving them out as it will save little to nothing.

Neal Rea (Coulsdon , 2024-04-28)

#123

Family homes aren’t just housing stock which can be reassigned dispassionately. We are all aware of the pressure for housing but please could officers look at the human story here, especially for a family that has done so much to bring the community together.

Lisa Webster (Sutton, 2024-04-28)

#131

I have known Barry and Ann for many years. They are the beating heart of The Mount in Coulsdon. Shame on you Sutton Council for putting them through hell with this eviction order. I have watched my two lovely friends sink into despair and depression over the looming court case. STOP this court case now I implore you. Sutton Council please find your heart and let Barry and Ann stay in 15 Lloyd Avenue, Coulsdon where they belong.

Sharon Taylor (Wallington, 2024-04-28)

#134

I am signing because the Killick family have been a massive asset to the Clockhouse community over the last forty years at least. They have organised and participated in many fundraising events for good local causes and are an undeniable asset to our community.

Ray Smith (Coulsdon, 2024-04-28)

#144

I'm signing because I loved in Sutton since birth 35 years and Barry and Ann are distant cousins of mine although I now love is Sussex I want to ask the council to immediately reverse their decision and review their own mistake many years ago to not pass down survivorship!! Absolutely disgusting that we pay taxes for stupid decisions like this

Becky Wilson (Billingshurst , 2024-04-28)

#145

Barry and Ann do not deserve to loose there home. They are a vital part of the local community.

Sean Godly (Coulsdon, 2024-04-28)

#151

Barry is a very much valued asset to our community. He is a stalwart fundraiser, supporting local people, businesses and charities.

Joanne Angus (Coulsdon, 2024-04-28)

#153

This is a disgusting act from the local authority. This is their childhood home they deserve to keep this home that holds all the memories

Lacie Millard (Wallington, 2024-04-28)

#154

In my opinion the council (housing dept) should have granted the lease under the survivorship terms.
Barry and Ann have become integral parts of our community, and fear WE may lose this support if they have to find alternative accommodation away from the Clockhouse community.

Nigel Craske (Coulsdon, 2024-04-28)

#162

I am signing because Barry Killick is indeed a pillar of our Clockhouse/the Mount community, a driving force in organising community events and in glueing us together. Sutton Council made a mistake many years ago and should rectify this by letting Barry and his sister stay in their house.

Klasiena Habibi (Coulsdon, 2024-04-28)

#164

Barry and Anne are a big part of this community

Jamie Chant (Redhill , 2024-04-29)

#177

I am appalled about the cold hearted, bureaucratic was this case is being treated. Barry works in a front line NHS service delivering blood and other urgent products. We all know this is poorly paid work and he cannot afford 'the going rent', this is why public housing was set up for people like him that are doing public work, especially in London and Greater London where public salaries are not rising at the rate of rents.and private work.

Caroline Morgan (Coulsdon, 2024-04-29)

#179

This is another unfair eviction which seems like arbitrary bureaucracy with no human foresight as to the extent of the damage this will cause these innocent and community minded people.

Amanda Short (Coulsdon , 2024-04-29)

#195

This is Barry and Anne's family home
Sutton council pressured their mum to soley sign the tenancy agreement when she was at her most vulnerable and without referral to Anne to provide a full explanation at that time .
If they had both received an explanation of the consequences of only mum signing she would never had agreed to that!
If Anne had signed joint tenancy after dad passed away then Barry would have signed new joint tenancy with Anne after they lost their mum.
LBS did not provide full info and are guilty of neglect!!

Christine Shuttle (Frenaros, 2024-04-29)

#197

I truly believe that the Council are being completely and unecessarily unfair in failing to revoke the eviction of Barry Killick and Ann Skilton. The reasons for revoking are well explained and correct, when all that is required is within the remit of the Council to append a simple pen stroke to cancel the original decision. Making such wonderful and valuable local characters from the community leave their home, leave the community which they have so actively served to bring closer together is, in my opinion, heartless and without any acceptable gain to anybody, and just pain for Barry and Ann, plus the loss of energy, commitment and voice on behalf of the entire Clockhouse Community, which Barry and Ann have given of themselves to help to build and promote.
Yours in hope of the RIGHT AND JUST outcome,
Philip L Rawlinson
